Olivia Wilde has made a show-stopping appearance at the second annual Academy Museum Gala, turning heads in a sheer gown and opting to go braless.
Wilde – who has been making plenty of headlines lately with both the premiere of her directorial project, Don’t Worry Darling, and the drama engulfing its cast – looked stunning as she hit the white carpet outside the venue in Los Angeles.
The gala is in its second year, and celebrates the industry’s biggest names along with the new cultural institution.
Wilde, 38, beamed at photographers as she posed in the floor-length, silver sequinned gown, which featured statement shoulder pads and a pale pink feathered hem.
She was among the many A-listers invited to the prestigious event, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Julia Roberts, George and Amal Clooney, Mindy Kaling and Emma Stone – although Wilde’s boyfriend, Harry Styles, was nowhere to be seen.
Wilde’s appearance came just days after she hit out at parenting critics in the November 2022 issue of Elle magazine.
The actress explained that she’s been accused of having “abandoned” her children in recent times, and that she’s slammed when she’s “photographed not with” son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 6.
“I share custody of my kids with my ex,” she clarified, referencing her former fiance of seven years, Jason Sudeikis.
“People assume I have abandoned my kids, like my kids are just somewhere in a hot car without me. The suggestion is that I have abandoned my role as a mother.”
Wilde added that the public doesn’t see her with her children because she “doesn’t let them get photographed”.
